Whoop Whoop! I’ve finally crossed over the 1,000 subscriber line on my YouTube channel! I’m a very small fish in a monumentally large YouTube pool - but I’m on the first rung of the ladder now!

Just over a year ago I uploaded my first video (with lots of help and encouragement) and I’ve managed to maintain a video a day (again, with lots of help and encouragement). The whole ethos behind my channel is to provide help and support for those wishing to develop their skills as a musician. I’ve filmed at the piano and I’ve filmed at my desk. I’ve made mistakes (to err is human) but I’ve grown in confidence over this last year. The world is a small place after all and it’s such a joy to join with people from all over the world as we work through topics - together it seems.

My own journey into the world of music was tentative enough ( a previous Blog gives testament to this) and yet I’ve come to love learning music and I love sharing what I’ve learned. YouTube is the perfect platform to work with! I’m still only at the very start of my YouTube journey, but I’ve passed that very first milestone. The great news is that I’ve still got an endless list of material I want to share. There’s no sign of me slowing up.


I’m enjoyed the process of recording now more than ever (once I got over camera nerves) but that pleasure is augmented by the immensely rewarding interaction I’ve enjoyed with those who watch my videos. Some have kindly pointed out slips and mishaps on my videos ( I did say that to err is human) and, as I’ve honed my filming technique, I’m not slipping up so much at all. I’ve also been able to exchange chat and help iron out tricky subjects and give extra guidance to marvellous students all over the globe. I am genuinely impressed by the dedication and application that my viewers have displayed in their studies. Their hard work in pursuing the knowledge they seek is impressive and it’s an honour to be part of their learning journey. Thanks you! Who knows what the future holds, but I am confident that it will hold many opportunities for us all to learn, myself included. There’s so much more for us to do! A thousand subscribers may be a small start - but it’s a start and it encourages me for the rest of the journey. Let’s get learning!
